Middlewich is a pleasant market town located in Cheshire East, just over 19miles east of the Roman city Chester. Incidentally there has also been a settlement in Middlewich since the Roman period, and it is know from the name 'wich' that the town was once an important location for the extraction of salt.

In earlier years the location was also known for the production of Cheshire cheese, silk and for its agriculture. More recently the town has become renowned for its canals, heritage local events and carnivals.

Why move to Middlewich?

Middlewich is a great location for those looking for a relaxed pace of life, with plenty of countryside nearby. The town centre is small, yet has all the essentials including take-aways, a Tesco supermarket, a pub and good public transport links.

For those thinking of commuting, the town is also in easy reach of the M6 motorway allowing quick access to major places of employment such as Birmingham and Manchester. For those of you with children, Middlewich has both primary and secondary schools and plenty of open spaces for children to play.

There is also a good library located just off the high-street for studying, and a civic hall that hosts a wide range of events. The scenery is pleasant with rolling flat fields typical of the Cheshire countryside and the canals offer a good place to both walk and cycle without having to make too many steep climbs.
